POSITION SUMMARY:
The Business Development Manager is a sales entrepreneur! We’re looking for people who are interested in working for a great company with untapped potential while also offering future business ownership potential. The Business Development Manager (BDM) is responsible for full-cycle business to business outside sales, targeting key customers within Square-1’s area of service. Square-1 sees this role as a relationship developer for the long game. BDM will lead all sales activities relating to key customer identification, customer relationship development, closing on sales opportunities and client customer service.

BDM will lead all sales activities relating to key customer identification, customer relationship development, closing on sales opportunities and client customer service.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Successfully land two (2) new projects a month, one (1) of which is with a new customer, by leading efforts in business development on behalf of SQR1 via lead generation, new client outreach, cold calling, networking and closing sales opportunities
- Produce $800k in annual sales revenue
- Operate as a consultative advisor to prospective clients by providing key insight and direction based on market trends and their business needs / objectives
- Lead efforts in developing a brand-new sales territory for our organization in Orange County, CA
- Seek and qualify prospects in accordance with Company goals via lead generation, cold calling, email campaigns, industry events and onsite customer meetings
- Build long term relationships with industry professionals and customers to drive marketplace branding and customer acquisition
- Drive personal vehicle to attend customer meetings, conventions, networking events, etc
QUALIFICATIONS:
- 4 year college degree from an accredited university preferred
- 3+ years generating revenue and developing a pipeline of sales via outside business to business (B2B) sales, preferably within a services sector
- Experience targeting and closing new clients
- Experience developing and maintaining long term customer relationships and engagements
- Experience utilizing a hands-on and an proactive approach to customer service
- Willingness to travel throughout Southern California to attend tradeshows, networking events, and onsite customer meetings on a weekly basis
- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills which can be used in a sales and client service capacity
- Advanced experience in Microsoft Office software tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Excel
COMPENSATION:
- Base salary will range from $70-100k, depending on experience
- Additional quarterly bonus structure based on both individual merit and company performance
